Hi Everyone,

Hi Everyone, Lately there has been a bit of an uproar concerning the tutorial writers the sales of scrap kits. I just want to make sure that we formally let you everyone know about where CILM stands concerning these two genres in the PSP world and how they coincide with the usage of CILM graphics: CILM is happy that scrap kit makers are beginning to earn some money from the hard work they have been putting in to benefit PSPers for such a long time. This is a movement that we feel is long overdue and we are excited to see the development of new and exciting trends that could result from digital scrap kit makers all over the world. We absolutely see no reason why scrap kit makers shouldn't be paid for the time and effort they spend to create stellar graphics for everyone to use. As far as the usage of CILM images/tubes in conjunction with a PSP tutorial we are absolutely fine with that as long as the CILM image or tube is credited properly on the tag that is created when using the tutorial and in the typed out description of the tutorial as indicated in (new) CILM Standard Term of Use #32. Ultra clear: If you use a CILM image or tube in the creation of a tutorial YOU MUST credit the artist and give CILM reference as exactly indicated in Term of Use #32. We don't really mind where you are going to place the credit, as indicated, on the page... it is just mandatory that credit is given appropriately. Examples of proper placement would be: under the tutorial tag example, in the footer of the tutorial or in the body of the tutorial. It is very important that tutorial 'readers' know exactly who created the artwork and where they need to go to obtain the image or tube legally. If a Tutorial Writer wants to use a CILM image/tube for their tutorial and they properly licensed by CILM -AND- they credit the artist and CILM accordingly... then they are more than welcome to have as much fun as they can creating PSP tutorials using our graphics. Hopefully this helps to clear up any confusion. Have a great finish to the weekend,Anthony PS. See CILM Standard Term of Use #32 HERE.

AMI Post

(feel free to forward/re-post as necessary)
It has been brought to our attention that there is a certain scrap artist who has a commercial site (she sells her scrap kits), who has a "deal" running with tut-writers that they can have her kits for free if they write a tutorial with her scraps, and thereby promoting the sale of her kits. The deal goes, you get a free commercial kit, write the tut, show her and then you can pick your next kit, write another tut and so on, in an on-going cycle.
I want to clarify that this is NOT ok with AMI's TOU. This is considered bartering. This is basically saying, "I will trade you this service, for that service."
The scrap artist is within her full rights to do this, as she is merely gaining promotion, but for the tut writers trading their service for these kits, this is a direct violation of our terms of use and is not acceptable. All other licensing companies have the same statement in their terms as well, that their artwork may not be used for "bartering" purposes, this is not just AMI.
If you are a tut writer who is or who will be taking part of this "deal", please be advised that you may not use your AMI licensed artwork to fulfill your end of the agreement.
Thanks for understanding. Any questions regarding this should be directed to our customer service department.
Please note: this is not to be confused with another recent situation of a scrap artist using her/his own kits in tutorials, this is strictly regarding the trading of services (the scraps being traded for the tutorials).
